System Engineer

We are expanding our team and seeking a Senior System Engineer with a focus on on-premises systems, user access, permissions, password management, and expertise in databases such as Postgres and MongoDB.

This role requires proficiency in networking, a background in database administration, and experience with hypervisors, storage systems, backups, and data pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

1. System Management:
   • Administer user access, permissions, and password management for on-premises infrastructure.
2. Database Administration:
   • Manage and optimize databases, including Postgres and MongoDD.
   • Perform database operations, point-in-time recovery, replication, DR setup, backups.
3. Networking:
   • Troubleshoot and resolve networking issues to ensure low latency connectivity.
4. Data Pipelines:
   • Design and implement efficient data pipelines.
   • Ensure the reliability and performance of data processing and integration workflows.
5. Backup and Recovery:
   • Implement and manage backup strategies for on-premises systems and databases.
   • Conduct regular testing of backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity.
6. Hypervisors and Storages:

• Manage hypervisors and storage systems to support the virtualization infrastructure.
• Optimize storage solutions for performance, capacity, and scalability.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a System Engineer with a focus on on-premises systems and database administration.
• Strong knowledge of Postgres and MongoDB databases, including database operations i.e. Replication, Sharding, Backups, DR Strategy, PITR, Encryption and obfuscation.
• Proficiency in networking concepts and troubleshooting.
• Experience with hypervisors (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V etc) and underlying storage systems.
• Familiarity with backup and recovery best practices.
• Understanding of SSO, Role-based access, permissions, and password management.
• Experience with data pipelines and integration workflows.
